Advisor Asif Nazrul said this at the closing ceremony of a workshop on the Commonwealth Charter in the capital’s Gulshan on Tuesday. Noting that the interim government has also amended the Cyber ​​Security Ordinance for freedom of expression, he said, “During the previous government’s tenure, people were harassed the most through this law. But when you hear from people that it is not a very bad law, it means it is a good law.’

The legal advisor said that the interim government has almost completed the work of amending the law through a highly consultative process, and ‘progress will be visible soon.’

Professor Asif Nazrul called the Commonwealth Charter a moral guideline. He said that this charter keeps the Commonwealth countries together even beyond borders. The current government’s ongoing reform activities also embody the values ​​of the Commonwealth Charter.

The legal advisor said that the interim government is working to ensure the transparency and efficiency of the digitalization of the country’s judiciary. He expressed hope that significant progress in the digitalization work will be visible in the next six months.

Calling for the July-August mass uprising to be seen as a moral movement, Asif Nazrul said that this uprising is not just a political movement, the youth who led the July mass uprising are not only the leaders of the future, they will be the changemakers of the future.

Professor Asif Nazrul praised the moral fortitude, democracy, justice and accountability of the country’s youth. He said that the activism of the youth has already made an impact on social and institutional reforms. From the streets to the policy-making arena, the youth have shown that their role is not just that of passive observers.
